Questions about paying

Four things parents ask us before they pay. Short answers, and where the honest answer is not the flattering one we have said so.

What happens after the free week? Am I charged automatically?

No. We do not take a card to start the free week, so there is nothing to charge.

You sign up, your child gets a full week, and no payment details are asked for at any point in that week. When the week ends, the lessons and worksheets stop until you choose a plan. Nothing is taken from you and nothing is taken from your child by surprise.

When you decide to carry on, you pick a plan and enter your card. Your card is saved then, and the first payment is taken on the day your free week ends. Choosing early does not shorten your week and does not bring the charge forward: if you pick a plan on day three, the days you have left are still free and the first payment still waits for day seven. The payment page names the amount before you press.

Once that first payment is made, the plan renews on its own, every month or every year, until you stop it. That is the only automatic charge there is, and question 2 is how you stop it.

We send you a note on day 3, on day 6 and on day 7, so the end of the week is never a surprise. The free week is one per parent, once.

Can I change plan later, or stop?

Yes to both, from your own dashboard, without writing to us.

Stopping. If you never chose a plan, there is nothing to stop: no card was taken, so no payment is running, and the free week simply ends on its own. If you did choose a plan during your free week, you can still cancel before the week ends and nothing is charged at all. Once a payment has been taken there is a cancel control in Parent Mode. Cancelling stops the next payment and leaves the time you have already paid for alone: on a monthly plan you keep everything to the end of that month, on a yearly plan to the end of that year.

The part that is not flattering, said plainly. We do not refund a period you have already paid for. That is the same on monthly and on yearly, at the first payment and at every renewal. So if you cancel in month two of a year you have paid for, you keep access for the other ten months and we do not send money back. Nothing here removes a right you have under Singapore consumer law. The full wording is on the cancellation policy.

Changing plan. You can move up a plan whenever you need more room, from the same screen, and the button tells you the amount before it does anything. Moving to a smaller plan than your children fit into is refused rather than quietly leaving a child without a place: if you need that, write to us and we will do it with you. A plan billed yearly cannot be switched to monthly part way through the year.

Your card details, your receipts and your billing address live in the payment provider portal, which the dashboard opens for you.

What if I have two children?

One email, one dashboard, one payment. Each child keeps their own companion, their own progress and their own level.

The plans differ only in how many children they cover:

  • One: 1 child
  • Pair: 2 children
  • Trio: 3 children
  • Pack: 4 children
  • Pride: 6 children

There is also Mini, which is only for children at Primary 1 or Primary 2 level. Mini is the one plan where you say at checkout how many children you need it for, up to 6, rather than picking a bigger box.

You can add the second child at any time. If your plan is full, the dashboard offers you one move up and names the amount first. Nothing about your plan changes until you press it.

The one case that can need a hand. If one child is at Primary 1 or 2 and another has moved past Primary 2, sometimes the cheapest cover is two plans rather than one, and two plans on one account is the thing we cannot do in one press yet. Most of the time one plan covers everybody for the same money or less, and then it is one press like any other. The dashboard works out which case you are in and tells you before anything is charged.

If I stop, what happens to everything my child has done?

It stays. Stopping a payment is not a delete.

For the whole of the period you have already paid for, nothing changes at all: every worksheet, every badge, everything they have earned, their companion, the whole record.

After that, access stops but the account is kept, so that coming back later means picking up where your child left off rather than starting again. If a plan ever started, even one you cancelled inside the free week before any money moved, we keep it for 12 months from the day you stop. If you only ever had the free week and never entered card details, we keep it for 90 days after that week ends, and we email you a week before that window closes so it is never a surprise. When a window runs out we delete it, properly.

You do not have to trust us with it either way. In Parent Mode, under Settings, there is a Download my data button that gives you one file with your account, your consent record and every child's progress, worksheets, badges and rewards. Nothing to request and nothing to wait for.

The same screen has the delete control. It shows you what goes and what stays, and asks you to confirm. When you confirm, your account and every child on it are removed right away. There is no waiting period and no undo, so take a copy first if you want one. The confirmation screen names everything we still hold before you press it, and the privacy policy lists the same things. It is a short list, and payment records are on it because Singapore tax law makes them.

Anything here that reads wrong to you, or a question we have not answered: email [email protected]. The full wording lives in our Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy, and where this page and those pages differ, those pages are the ones that count.

Written in plain English so it can be read in a minute. Interim wording, pending review by a Singapore-qualified lawyer.
